Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Horse Trade Market (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details — your name, email address, and password (passwords are stored encrypted), or basic profile information from a third-party login such as Google.
- Listing details — the descriptions, photos, location, price and contact details you choose to publish.
- Contact and profile information, such as a phone number, if you add it.
- Messages you send us, for example by email.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages you view, searches you run, and actions you take.
- Device and technical data — your browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and similar information.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
Payment information: When you buy a paid upgrade, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and limited details (such as the type of purchase), but we do not collect or store your full card number.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and your listings.
- Operate, maintain and improve the Service.
- Let buyers and sellers connect with each other.
- Process payments for paid features.
- Respond to your messages and provide support, and send important service notices.
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
3. Information that is public
A listing is meant to be seen. When you publish one, its contents — text, photos, location and any contact details you include — are visible to anyone using the Service. Your seller profile and the contact details you choose to reveal are also public. Please don't include anything in a listing that you don't want to be public.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. We use analytics tools — including Google Analytics and Mixpanel — to collect aggregated usage statistics that help us improve the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service, with trusted providers who process data on our behalf, including:
- Hosting and database providers that run the website.
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Image hosting, to store and serve your listing photos.
- Analytics providers, as described above.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Listings that are sold or hidden are removed automatically after a retention period. You can delete individual listings yourself at any time. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data, except where we're required to keep certain records (for example, for tax or legal reasons).
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, download, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your information directly in your account settings. To make any other request, email us at horsestrademarket@gmail.com.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypting passwords and using secure connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Horse Trade Market is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. International users
The Service may be operated from, and your information stored in, countries other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, which may have different data-protection laws than where you live.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “last updated” date above. Significant changes may be highlighted on the site.
